I've heard the old saying "sometimes it's better to be lucky than good." I think that we had a touch of that this past weekend.
We thought that we had engine trouble in our re-entry back into Late Models, however it turned out that two freeze plugs were leaking in the block. After a few hours of repair, back to BIR.
There was a good turn out of cars for the race, fifteen as a matter of fact, and with very little practice due to leaky freeze plugs, malfunctioning brake master cylinder, now it was time to qualify.
We qualified tenth out of fifteen and slowly made our way to the front, where we finished fifth; our best finish ever in a very competitive division.
Gary Sanford Jr won bringing Ken McFarland's winning streak to an end.
